Suprovat Sydney report : The world is at shock from the mass genocide in Gaza. Women, children and elderly alike massacred and brutally mutilated in the “open-air prison.” Thousands of innocent victims of cruelty, praying for safety, completely cut off from lifesaving necessities such as food, medicine and shelter.

Human rights violations of unprecedented scale. Even volunteers and relief workers killed while working.

Sydney University, the most renowned in Australia, embarked on a unique initiative in solidarity with Gaza’s victims. For two months, students set up camp outside the university, sleeping under the open sky.

Their message resonated globally: “As students, we empathize with the victims of genocide.” The event attracted a diverse array of compassionate individuals—united by kindness, regardless of color, religion, or language—contributing to its resounding success.

Suprovat Sydney, the only Bangladeshi Community Newspaper in Australia, interviewed the esteemed organizer Owais about the highly successful campaign.

He expressed gratitude, saying, “Alhamdulillah (thanks to God), after a successful campaign, the University has reached an agreement with us, concluding the encampment and opening doors to further initiatives in support of our brothers and sisters in Gaza. We extend heartfelt thanks to all who stood steadfast with trust in Allah (God)  and perseverance through adversity. We sincerely appreciate the University’s authorities and extend special gratitude for their cooperative spirit.

This marks not the end but the beginning of continued advocacy and lobbying efforts! We remain committed to urging the university to fully divest and impose sanctions until Palestine achieves freedom.

“Our media group, Suprovat Sydney, extends heartfelt congratulations to the students, families, friends, and all participants involved. You have our unwavering support—we stand by you, and remember, you are not alone. Congratulations on your extraordinary efforts!
