The response from the local council indicating that they do not share the concerns about pedestrian safety is concerning. Despite former Canterbury Mayor Mr. Robson’s pre-election promises, no progress has been made. Over the years, various mayors have come and gone, yet the issue remains unresolved.

I have reached out to Hon. Tony Burke MP, Hon. Jihad Dib MP, and Hon. Sophie Cotsis MP regarding this matter. Despite our efforts, including those from other community members, the CEO of the council has consistently rejected our requests.

I recently requested the CEO of Canterbury-Bankstown City Council to reconsider the decision regarding the speed hump, but my idea has been ignored.

As concerned community members who use this pedestrian crossing daily, we are now contemplating whether to arrange a meeting with the CEO or organize a demonstration. This issue is directly related to our community’s safety and affects our daily lives. We urgently require prompt and effective action from the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of our local area.
