PAKISTAN: KING OF THE SKIES

Columnist Nozaina:

22 April, 2025 – The Beginning

The conflict between Pakistan and India escalated after the Pahalgam incident. On 22 April 2025, a terrible attack happened in Pahalgam, a famous tourist spot in Jammu and Kashmir. Five rebels, veiled in military uniform, entered an area called Baisaran Valley and started shooting at tourists. Terrorists killed 26 innocent people, including children and women, and injured many others. Eyewitnesses stated that the attackers singled out non-Muslims using a spiritual test before attacking the victim.  It was a brutal and shocking act. India blames Pakistan-based terrorist groups for the assault.

23 April, 2025 – India’s overreaction

The Indian government was furious and responded quickly. They blamed Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack. It was pre-planned by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi wanted to turn the Sikh community against Pakistan. The Indian Government suspended the Indus Water Treaty, which controls the sharing of rivers between Pakistan and India, using water as a political weapon. Indian officials made a baseless accusation against Pakistan. They were blaming Pakistan without clear evidence. The military put on high alert along the India-Pakistan border. The civilians living in border villages were asked to prepare for evacuation.

At that moment, the Indian media acted more like an entertaining channel than a trustworthy news source, failing to deliver precise information to the public.

1-7 May- Indian Military Strike-Operation Sindhoor

On 7 May 2025, India carried out a military provocation action ‘‘Operation Sindhoor’’. Indian fighters violated the LOC (Line of Control), arriving in Pakistan-administered territory in a patent act of anger. The imaginary targets were suspected terrorist training camps in areas like Muridke and Bahawalpur. Indians claimed the strikes were limited and precise to avoid civilian harm and escalation. To strike rebellious teaching camps and launch pads without hitting official Pakistani targets or civilians. India’s attack on Pakistan affects mosques and civilians. An innocent child, ‘Irtaza Zahir Abbas Turi’, was martyred in an Indian attack on Azad Kashmir. He was the son of Pakistani army colonel Zahir Abbas Turi. Many other innocent Pakistani civilians were martyred in the attack. As India claimed that it only targets terrorist groups. How could a little innocent child be a terrorist? Pakistan shot down many Indian aircraft. India kept lying, that nothing happened to its planes. At that time, Pakistan proved its responsibility. When India attacked Pakistan, there were 57 passenger flights. Any missile could have hit the passengers.

We are proud Pakistanis. We are proud of our military forces. Our PAF said sleep tight, PAF is awake. (Live long, Pakistan)

Indian media threatened Pakistan and said that Pakistan cannot do anything; we will enter their country and kill them. The voice of screams came from Rawalpindi.

Pakistan said global countries to de-escalate the conflict, but they said Pakistan and India must resolve their issues on their own.

India sent Israeli-made drones to Pakistan, which violated Pakistan’s border. Pakistan has off its defense system and let the drones come to Pakistan. They started killing them with guns. These were Israeli drones with an altitude of 35,000 feet, and were not reported by any radar. On 9 May, India attacked a Sikh temple ‘Gurdwara Janam Asthan’ in Nankana Sahib.

As always, India rejected this drama as well.

10-May-2025 – Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos

On 10 May, Pakistan launched a retaliatory operation named Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos. They target many Indian military bases, not civilian areas, and Hindu religious sites. India targets innocent civilians, holy places, mosques, and homes. In retaliation, India has continued operation Sindhoor, expanding its scope to target the Pakistani armed system. The conflict marked the first drone battle between the two nuclear-armed nations.

One of the standout figures in the operation was Squadron Kamran Masih, a Pakistani air force pilot who became a national hero. Our honorable squadron leader was credited with the downing of a highly advanced French-made Indian Rafael jet, marking a historic moment. It was the first Raffle aircraft to be lost in battle.

Pakistan reportedly shattered a BrahMos missile storage area, dealing a strategic setback. The targeted sites housed Russian-made S-400 air defense systems worth around $1.5 million, raising district security concerns.

Pakistan was not only in ground and air battles but also launched cyber-attacks, successfully hacking the Indian government and defense systems, showcasing innovative cyber war proficiencies along with traditional military strength.

Kamran Masih skillful tactical and maneuvering awareness showcased the superiority of Pakistan’s air combat equipment and training, specifically the Chinese-origin J-10 C jets, which performed an important role in launching air parity.

The honorable Kamran Masih’s success not only dealt a psychological blow to the Indian Air Force but also boosted national morale and confirmed that Pakistan’s air defenses are fully capable of countering even the most advanced opposition. His role is now imprinted into modern military history as a symbol of precision and courage.

Kamran Masih said that if he had not been called back, he would have destroyed the entire Delhi.

On 10 May 2025, Pakistan and India agreed to a ceasefire after three days of intense conflict following hotline talks among military officials and growing international calls for immediate de-escalation. India must have realized that Pakistan is a powerful nation.

It’s a proud moment for all Pakistanis. Pakistan Air Force declared itself the king of the skies by a British newspaper.
