Reported by Suprovat Sydney: Professor Mahfuz Ashraf (PhD), advisor to the Bangladesh Australia Trade and Investment Council, (BATIC) attended the Social Business event and met with Professor Yunus in Dhaka. This event, Social Business Day, is an annual global gathering organised by the Yunus Centre to celebrate and share the accumulated experiences of social business leaders and entrepreneurs who are spearheading a new path toward a sustainable and just future for the world.
The 15th Social Business Day held at the Samajik Convention Centre, Zirabo, Savar, Dhaka, on June 27-28, 2025, organised by the Yunus Centre in collaboration with the Grameen Group. The conference focused on the theme, ‘Social Business is the most efficient path to ensure healthcare for all.’
This year’s conference brought together thought leaders, innovators, and policy-makers to explore practical solutions for ensuring equitable access to healthcare. It served as a platform for exchanging ideas, forging new partnerships, and discussing strategies to tackle global health challenges through social business initiatives.
BATIC is pleased that its advisor, Prof Mahfuz Ashraf, attended this year’s social business event in Bangladesh. It strengthens economic ties between Bangladesh and Australia, fostering trade, investment, and collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, education, and technology. BATIC connects businesses and officials, facilitating trade agreements and investments to promote mutual growth and support sustainable development in both nations.
We, Suprovat Sydney the only Bangladeshi community newspaper in Australia extend our heartfelt congratulations to the BATIC advisory team on their recent achievements and wish them continued success in all future endeavours.
