The interests of the country over those of the political party or the individual.

Ohidur Islam: Khaleda Zia is one of the most sacrificing victims of the murderer Sheikh Hasina regime. Khaleda Zia has proven that she keeps her word. (1) She did not affiliate with Ershad in the 1986 parliamentary election. (2) She did not leave Bangladesh during the period of the interim government in 2007 when her party was in chaos. (3) She has not made any political comments since she was allowed to stay in the house instead of prison. However, she was falsely charged. According to the news, Khaleda Zia’s family has requested that Sheikh Hasina allow Khaleda to stay in a house in exchange for Khaleda’s promise not to affiliate with politics in the future. Even murderer Sheikh Hasina trusted Khaleda Zia’s word and allowed her to stay under house arrest. (4) She had never lost from her constituency in parliament elections when she was actively involved in politics. (5) Khaleda Zia is trustworthy. The proof of Khaleda Zia’s patriotism to Bangladesh and its citizens is that India does not favour her.

Zia’s family had always taken the responsibility of Bangladesh in times of great need. (1) During the 1971 liberation war, when the entire Bangladesh was waiting for direction, Ziaur Rahman came forward with the declaration of independence. He was courageous to declare the independence of Bangladesh live on radio with his name pronounced.

Unlike an audio tape, that articulator was absent when it was published, and the audio was never found. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman could easily deny that the voice in the audio was his if Bangladeshis had lost the liberation war of 1971, as he had denounced his affiliation in the trial of the Agartala case, although he had minor involvement. The first President of Bangladesh, Ziaur Rahman, had no chance of returning to the position. If Bangladesh had not become independent, he either had to die in action on the battlefield or he had to face a court-martial; the outcome would have been similar to the first option because he revolted with his troops, saying, ‘We revolt’ against The Pakistan Government. After the death of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975, the country went through several military coups. The defence system and administrative mechanism fell apart. The nation faced a famine in 1974; the country was still war-torn and severely lacking food and basic needs. In that dire need, the soldiers and the people of Bangladesh trusted Ziaur Rahman again to lead Bangladesh. President Ziaur Rahman served Bangladesh once again with his visionary 19-point development plan. Bangladesh bid him farewell, with millions of people attending his funeral in Dhaka in 1981.

Since we found out Khaleda Zia is trustworthy. At this time of massive distress in Bangladesh, when the country is facing a financial crisis, political blunders, and social dissatisfaction. Khaleda Zia should be put in charge of the Presidential role. Khaleda Zia is most worthy and knowledgeable for being the president of Bangladesh. None is more appropriate than her for this role. With her leadership, experience, and ability to connect with the people of Bangladesh, she can lead Bangladesh to a free and fair election. Suppose her role as The Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party hinders her chances of becoming President of Bangladesh. In that case, necessary changes can be made, as she prioritizes the motto of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party: “The interests of the country over those of the political party or the individual.”

To this day, if Murderer Sheikh Hasina can harm one person on earth, that person will be Tariq Rahman because Tariq Rahman has been leading the movement against India’s hegemony over Bangladesh and murderer Sheikh Hasina’s regime’s terrorism for decades. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party, led by Tariq Rahman, has set 31 points for the future development of Bangladesh. Zia’s family does not brag about their contribution and commitment to Bangladesh. They prove it by action. The Bangladesh National Party works for Bangladesh in silence, regardless of whatever is thrown at it. About 1700 people were either killed or forcefully disappeared in Bangladesh between 2008 and 2024 only because they were followers of the Bangladesh National Party. At least 450 students who were involved with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party were killed during the Monsoon Revolution 2024. Besides, Bangladesh Nationalist Party followers faced countless false prosecutions and enforced imprisonment.

Bangladesh is one family. Regardless of our political beliefs, we will be living near each other. We better live in harmony. We are each other’s mirror and each other’s support. To bring us together, to have a constitution free of discrimination, and to have a democratic parliamentary system in Bangladesh, making Khaleda Zia the President of Bangladesh is inevitable.
