Campbelltown City Council Celebrates Spirit of Ramadan.

Reported by Suprovat Sydney: In a vibrant display of unity and cultural harmony, the Campbelltown City Council hosted a Iftar dinner on Friday 6th March 2026 evening, bringing together the local Muslim community to break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event, hosted by Campbelltown Mayor Darcy, served as a bridge between the council and its diverse constituents, highlighting the city’s commitment to inclusivity.

The atmosphere was one of warmth and reflection as hundreds of community members gathered to observe the sunset prayer and share a meal. The evening was graced by the presence of prominent figures, including renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Redwan, who delivered an inspiring address on the values of patience, charity, and community service.

The success of the evening was largely attributed to the meticulous planning of the event organizers. Former Deputy Mayor Ibrahim Khalil Masud and Councillor Khalid Halabi were instrumental in managing the proceedings. Their efforts ensured that the large crowd was accommodated comfortably, fostering an environment of mutual respect and celebration.

As the Maghrib call to prayer echoed through the venue, the breaking of the fast symbolized more than just a religious observance; it stood as a testament to the strength of Campbelltown’s social fabric.

As the only Bangladeshi newspaper in Australia present to document the occasion, Suprovat Sydney provided exclusive coverage of the festivities. Reporter Mohammed Zakir Hossain (Razu) was on the ground, capturing the stories and sentiments of the Bangladeshi-Australian community, who turned out in large numbers to support the initiative.
