Campbelltown City Council successful Iftar Dinner 2023

Suprovat Sydney report: On April 12th, the civic centre Campbelltown city council was buzzing with activity as the annual Mayoral Iftar dinner was held successfully. The event brought together dignitaries from different faiths and backgrounds, who gathered to break their fast and celebrate unity and diversity.

The dinner was hosted by the city’s mayor, Crl George Griss, who was joined by a number of city councillors including Clr Maud Khalil, Clr Rilly Munaro, Clr John Chow, Clr Darcey Loud, Clr Kare Humt, Clr Masood Chowdhury and Clr Ray Monato. The guests enjoyed a delicious spread of traditional Iftar food, while engaging in lively conversation and laughter.

Religious leaders from different communities were also in attendance, including Sheikh Redwan, Sheikh Omar, Sheikh Hamidullah, David Ismail, Br Samih and Ramee from CYC and Community Voice leader Khaled Halabi They shared their insights on the importance of coming together in times of crisis and the significance of building bridges between different faiths and communities.

The event was a great success and received high praise from all who attended. Mayor Griss expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host such a meaningful event, saying “It’s important to come together as a community to celebrate our differences and to show that we are stronger when we stand together. I’m grateful to everyone who made this event possible and to all who attended.”
