Launch of New Political Party in Canterbury – Bankstown area.

-Tajul Islam: Community Voice recently launched their new convening committee with the aim of forming a comprehensive committee for the Canterbury-Bankstown area. It is noteworthy to mention that the party was originally established in the Campbelltown area in 2021, with Ibrahim Khalil Masud (Deputy Mayor, CAMPBELLTOWN CITY COUNCIL) serving as the founder President, and Khaled

It is noteworthy to mention that the party was originally established in the Campbelltown area in 2021, with Ibrahim Khalil Masud (Deputy Mayor, CAMPBELLTOWN CITY COUNCIL) serving as the founder President, and Khaled  Halabi as the General Secretary.

 

 

The newly elected Convenor Al Walid and Member Secretary Taher Shaikh, have expressed their commitment to working diligently in the area to improve its overall condition.

Distinguished community leaders from various backgrounds, including Bangladeshi, Indian, Lebanese, Indonesian, Syrian, Moroccan, Italian, Greek, and others participated in the event.

Several speakers voiced their dissatisfaction with existing political parties, expressing frustration with their perceived shortcomings. Concerns were raised about the lack of action on critical issues, including insufficient speed humps, inadequate CCTV cameras, not enough road lights, neglected footpath cleaning, the absence of beautification projects, and a shortage of parking spaces etc in the Canterbury – Bankstown area.

The general sentiment among the attendees was that the established political parties have not addressed the community’s needs effectively. The call for change resonated strongly, emphasizing the urgency for improvements in infrastructure and services.

As the newly formed Community Voice endeavours to shape the future of Lakemba, Canterbury – Bankstown area the diverse voices of the community unite in seeking positive transformations for the betterment of the area.

The event served as a platform for community leaders to voice their concerns and advocate for the changes they believe will enhance the quality of life in the Canterbury-Bankstown region.
