Abdul Ahad, the youngest martyr of the Monsoon (July) Revolution 2024 of Bangladesh.

Ohidul Islam: Abdul Ahad: a four-year-old, resided in Rayerbag, Jatrabari, Dhaka, with his father, Abul Hasan, mother, Shumi Akhter, and a brother. Abdul Ahad used to pass days playing with toys, riding bikes, or reciting poems. There were times when he would pass the time being silly. He would visit Theme Parks and Children’s play areas on his father’s days off.

On Friday, 19th July 2025, just before midday, Abdul Ahad was sitting by the balcony of their apartment. Suddenly, a screaming noise came from the street below. Abdul Ahad called his father. After some time, Abdul Ahad’s mother joined them. Father was on one side, and Mother was on the other side. Ahad was standing in the middle. Three of them were witnessing the fight between the terrorists of the Bangladesh Chhatra League and the Quota reform activists. Suddenly, Abdul Ahad fell on the floor. At first, Abul Hasan thought that the boy had fainted. Nevertheless, when he was lifting the child, he saw a pool of blood that gave him a chill of fear. Blood was all over Abdul Ahad’s face. The bullet went through his right eye. Shumi Akhter (Mother) was crying. Abdul Ahad’s blood was all over the floor by then. Blood was pouring through the eye, face, and head of the boy. The bullet went through the right eye and stuck in the head. Abul Hasan ran to the lift holding Ahad on his lap, went down to the street, and sought a Rickshaw.

Meanwhile, the fight came to a halt on the street. With the help of passersby, they rode to the hospital in a rickshaw. Abul Hasan held onto Abdul Ahad tightly all the way to the hospital, praying a supplication to the Almighty. On the way, the police stopped them. Although the police initially prevented them from going to the hospital, after making numerous requests, they were finally able to reach Dhaka Medical College. Abdul Ahad was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit to keep him on life support. The doctors informed Abdul Ahad’s parents that the bullet had stuck in the head, but it is uncertain about the location of the bullet. Therefore, it is necessary to undergo a CT scan to determine the location of the bullet. The condition is that they need to remove the life support from Abdul Ahad to complete the CT scan. In doing so, Abdul Ahad may lose his life, but it is necessary to complete the CT scan. The next day, Saturday at 8:30 PM, the patient Abdul Ahad was declared dead. After completing the post-mortem, the hospital authority handed over Abdul Ahad’s body on Sunday at about 3.30 PM. Then, Abdul Ahad’s family transported Abdul Ahad’s body to their village, Pukhuria, Bhanga. Abdul Ahad’s family rested his body in the family graveyard after Sunset prayer (Maghrib).

Bystanders observed that at least one of the gang members of the Bangladesh Chhatra League had a firearm during the combat. Murderer Sheikh Hasina and her ministers ordered their gang members to do anything to stop the protest, including the use of lethal weapons on 18th July 2025. Following that, the terrorists of the Bangladesh Awami League fired shots indiscriminately. In fact, the Bangladesh Awami League members who were in the law enforcement agencies fired shots from the helicopter.

The sacrifices of Abu Sayeed, Mugdha, Ria, Akram, Anas, and Ahad have removed our fear. The people of Bangladesh will never be afraid to speak their minds. It is the strength of keeping Bangladesh’s spirit of freedom alive.
