Suprovat Sydney report:  More than 600 people came together to celebrate Ramadan and break their fast at the annual Mayoral Iftar Dinner on Tuesday 4 April 2023.

Hosted by Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour, the event bought together people of the Muslim community to share a meal at Condell Park’s The Grand Vaudeville

Mayor Asfour said, “The impressive turnout of more than 600 attendees was a far cry from the 150 people who showed up to the very first Iftar dinner, some 11 years ago”.

“The annual Iftar dinner is a tradition I’m proud of initiating to show our City’s appreciation for the contributions of our Muslim community.”

“It’s a small token of appreciation and a symbol of our enduring and ongoing friendship.”

Many community leaders, dignitaries, businessman bring together in that novel Iftar Dinner. Md Abdullah Yousuf, Editor in Chief and ANM Masum YouTube Presenter from the only Bangladeshi Community Newspaper in Australia also join to that Multicultural harmony Iftar dinner.
