Horrific Bike Crash: Bangladeshi International student in critical condition

Reported by Suprovat Sydney- the Bangladeshi community in Sydney is in mourning and prayer following a devastating motorcycle accident involving 21-year-old international student Md Takbir Ahmed Nayem (21). The incident, reported by Suprovat Sydney, has left the young IT student fighting for his life at Liverpool Hospital.

The accident occurred on February 24, 2026 (corresponding with the 6th of Ramadan) in the suburb of Yennora.

  • The Victim: Md Takbir Ahmed Nayem, an IT student who arrived in Sydney on July 24, 2024. He previously studied Geology at Horogonga College in Munshigonj, Bangladesh.
  • The Circumstances: At approximately 4:00 PM, Nayem was traveling to his casual shift at Woolworths when a vehicle struck him from behind.
  • Emergency Response: The driver of the vehicle immediately contacted emergency services (000). Nayem was rushed to Liverpool Hospital, where he underwent a grueling seven-hour emergency surgery.

Current Medical Status

Medical professionals at Liverpool Hospital have described Nayem’s injuries as “fatal” in scale. Doctors have delivered a grim prognosis to the family, stating there is a significant risk that he may never regain consciousness or the ability to speak. He remains in extremely critical condition.

A Father’s Plea

Nayem’s father, Anisur Rahman, flew to Sydney immediately upon receiving the news. Overcome with grief. Mr. Rahman shared the details of the tragedy through tears, expressing his profound shock and heartbreak.
